SEPPE BAUXITE
RKB85
High-density, thermally stable calcined bauxite for refractory, abrasive, and ceramic applications.
▸ Rotary calcined bauxite is produced by sintering high-grade raw bauxite in a rotary kiln at temperatures around 1600°C. This process removes moisture and impurities, resulting in a dense, hard, and chemically stable material with high alumina content. It is widely used as a refractory aggregate, abrasive media, and in ceramic formulations where thermal shock resistance and mechanical strength are critical.
▸ From bauxite ore to finished sand, every stage is controlled to ensure consistent quality:
01 — Raw Material & Supply · Own mines, Al₂O₃ ≥ 65%
02 — Calcination Process · Rotary kiln at 1450–1550°C
03 — Processing & Grading · Crushing, screening & magnetic separation
04 — Testing & Delivery · Full lab testing & global packaging
▸ The rotary kiln method offers distinct advantages over traditional shaft kiln calcination:
• Uniform Heat Distribution — every particle receives consistent thermal treatment, eliminating under-burned or over-burned material.
• Higher Bulk Density — the tumbling action inside the rotary kiln promotes densification, resulting in ≥ 3.10 g/cm³ material suitable for demanding refractory applications.
• Improved Phase Stability — complete conversion to stable corundum and mullite phases ensures reliable performance at service temperatures up to 1770°C.
• Lower Variability — batch-to-batch consistency that shaft kilns simply cannot match, critical for industrial refractory formulations.
▸ XRF Chemical Analysis — every batch tested for Al₂O₃, Fe₂O₃, TiO₂, CaO, MgO, K₂O, Na₂O content.
▸ Bulk Density Measurement — pycnometer method to verify ≥ 3.10 g/cm³.
▸ Particle Size Distribution — laser diffraction and sieve analysis for accurate grading.
▸ Magnetic Separation Inspection — removal of iron contamination to meet premium specifications.
▸ Batch Traceability — full documentation from raw ore source to shipping container.
▸ Stable Chemical Composition — consistent alumina and low impurity levels ensure predictable refractory performance.
▸ High Bulk Density — dense grain structure reduces porosity and improves wear resistance in castables and bricks.
▸ Excellent Refractoriness — withstands service temperatures up to 1770°C without deformation.
▸ Low Water Absorption — minimizes binder demand and enhances workability in monolithic mixes.
▸ Flexible Sizing — available in standard and custom particle size distributions to suit various industrial processes.

▸ It is primarily used in refractory bricks, castables, and monolithics for steel ladles, blast furnaces, rotary kilns, and other high-temperature industrial equipment.
▸ Yes. Rotary kiln calcination ensures uniform heating, higher density (≥3.10 g/cm³), and more consistent chemistry batch-to-batch. Shaft kiln products often suffer from temperature gradients and uneven calcination, leading to performance variability in refractory applications.
▸ Yes. In addition to our standard 85% grade, we can supply 75%, 80%, 87%, and 88% Al₂O₃ material depending on your application requirements and volume.
▸ Standard sizes: 0-1mm, 1-3mm, 3-5mm, 5-8mm, 25-50mm. Custom sizing can be arranged upon request.
▸ Absolutely. With integrated mining and processing, we maintain stable inventory levels and can support annual supply contracts with consistent quality and on-time delivery.

SEPPE implements a rigorous 7-stage quality control system across the entire production chain, from bauxite ore selection to final packaging. Our integrated approach ensures every shipment of calcined bauxite meets the strictest standards for chemical composition, physical properties, and batch-to-batch consistency.
Incoming ore tested for Al₂O₃, Fe₂O₃, and TiO₂ content before processing. Only high-grade raw bauxite meeting minimum 85% Al₂O₃ potential is accepted into production.
Raw bauxite homogenized and blended to stabilize chemical composition before calcination, eliminating composition fluctuations that cause batch inconsistencies.
Continuous temperature monitoring at ~1600°C ensures uniform heat distribution. Tumbling action inside rotary kiln guarantees complete phase conversion to stable corundum and mullite.
Multi-stage magnetic separation removes iron contamination from crushing equipment. Iron (Fe₂O₃) content verified to ≤2.0% for premium refractory-grade material.
Every batch tested via X-ray fluorescence for Al₂O₃ (≥85%), Fe₂O₃ (≤2.0%), TiO₂ (≤4.0%), CaO (≤0.5%), and MgO (≤0.5%). Full chemical certificate provided with each shipment.
Bulk density (≥3.10 g/cm³), water absorption (≤2.5%), and refractoriness (≥1770°C) verified for every production batch. Particle size distribution tested via laser diffraction and sieve analysis.
Full documentation from raw ore source to shipping container. Each batch assigned a unique lot number for complete traceability. Pre-shipment inspection confirms grade, quantity, and packaging integrity.
▸ 100% batch traceability from bauxite ore source to final delivery
