Generally speaking, the roughness of machined surface is related to productivity. When the required surface roughness value is high, coarse abrasive particles should be selected. On the contrary, in fine grinding, the roughness value is low, and fine abrasive particles are suggested to be selected. The finer the abrasive particles, the better the grinding surface effect.
