SEPPE Calcined Bauxite For Metallurgical Works

Bauxite ore is the world’s primary source of aluminum.There are four main types of bauxite: the metallurgical, the abrasive, the welding and the refractory.

The metallurgical bauxite is used for aluminium production.The ore must first be chemically processed to produce alumina (aluminum oxide). Alumina is then smelted using an electrolysis process to produce pure aluminum metal. 

Alumina refineries extract pure alumina from bauxite by dissolution in hot caustic soda followed by purification and precipitation of alumina powder which is aluminium oxide (Al2O3) – the raw material for smelting into pure aluminium metal by electrolytic reduction in a molten bath at aluminium smelters.
