What is fluorspar used for ?

Fluorspar also called flurite, is a natural mineral with CaF₂ as the main component.

So what is it used for ?

1.Metallurgical Industry

The use of fluorite as a combustion accelerant can effectively reduce the melting point of refractory substances and effectively separate metal impurities. 

Generally, the calcium fluoride content is required to be greater than 65%.

2.Chemical Industry

Fluorite is used in the production of hydrofluoric acid and is a key raw material for the production of various organic and inorganic fluorides and fluorine elements. 

Fluorite is also used to manufacture catalysts in the production of high-octane fuel oil, etc.

3. Other Application

a. Transparent and colorless fluorite can be used to make special optical lenses.

b. Fluorite is also widely used in glass, ceramics, cement and other building materials industries.

c. Fluorite often shows bright colors, so it is often made into various accessories.
