Different raw materials: The raw material of brown corundum is bauxite, in addition to anthracite and iron xiao. The raw material of white corundum is alumina powder.

Different uses: brown corundum can be used to make ceramics, resin high-consolidation abrasive tools, grinding, polishing, sandblasting, precision casting, etc., and can also be used to make high-grade refractory materials. White corundum is suitable for grinding fine-grained abrasives such as high-carbon steel, high-speed steel and stainless steel. White corundum can also be used for precision casting and advanced refractory materials.

Different performance: Brown corundum has the characteristics of high purity, good crystallization, strong fluidity, low linear expansion coefficient and corrosion resistance. White corundum has the characteristics of high purity, good self-sharpening, acid and alkali corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, and stable thermal performance. In comparison, the hardness of white fused alumina is higher than that of brown fused alumina, but its toughness is lower than that of brown fused alumina.

The composition is different: Although both brown fused alumina and white fused alumina contain alumina, the alumina content of white fused alumina is more than 99%, and that of brown fused alumina is about 95%.

The production is different: white fused alumina is produced from alumina powder (the same raw material used for electrolytic aluminum), while brown fused alumina is produced from calcined bauxite.

Different objects of use: white corundum is suitable for more delicate applications, because it has better cutting power and good polishing effect. There will be no color residue during grinding. It is especially suitable for grinding some metal products with higher requirements. It is mostly used for carbon steel, alloy steel, malleable cast iron, hard bronze, etc. Brown corundum is a series of corundum grinding sand commonly used in the market, and it is also used in a relatively large amount on the market. It is mostly used for quenched steel, high-speed steel, high-carbon steel, and so on.
