SEPPE Brown Fused Alumina, also known as Brown Aluminum Oxide or BFA, is a tough fused alumina abrasive produced from high-quality bauxite in an electric arc furnace. With high hardness, strong toughness, stable chemical composition and good thermal resistance, it is widely used for bonded abrasives, coated abrasives, blasting media, surface preparation, refractory materials, lapping, polishing and grinding applications.
▸ Brown Fused Alumina is produced by melting calcined bauxite, carbon material and iron filings in an electric arc furnace, followed by crushing, magnetic separation, screening and particle size classification.
▸ The material combines high hardness with good toughness, making it suitable for applications that require aggressive cutting, stable wear resistance and reliable grain strength.
▸ SEPPE supplies macro grits, micro grits and powder grades according to abrasive, blasting, refractory and surface preparation requirements.
▸ High Hardness: Mohs hardness around 9 provides strong cutting ability for grinding, blasting and surface preparation applications.
▸ Good Toughness: Brown fused alumina grains resist premature breakage and support stable abrasive performance under mechanical impact.
▸ Stable Chemistry: High alumina content and controlled Fe₂O₃, SiO₂ and TiO₂ levels help support consistent abrasive and refractory performance.
▸ Wide Particle Size Range: F grits, P grits and W micro powder grades are available for bonded abrasives, coated abrasives, blasting, polishing and lapping.
▸ Heat Resistance: Fused alumina structure supports refractory raw material use and high-temperature industrial applications.

SEPPE Brown Fused Alumina quality control system covers raw bauxite review, electric arc furnace fusion control, crushing and magnetic separation, particle size classification, chemical composition testing, magnetic material control, physical property review, batch documentation, packaging verification and shipment traceability.
Raw bauxite and furnace charge materials are reviewed before electric arc furnace fusion to support stable alumina content and final grain quality.
Fusion, cooling, crushing and magnetic separation are controlled to produce hard, tough brown fused alumina grains with reduced magnetic impurities.
Particle size distribution is checked according to the ordered abrasive grade, including macro grits, coated abrasive grits and micro powder specifications.
Chemical composition and physical properties are reviewed to support abrasive, blasting and refractory applications.
Packaging, labeling, bag weight, retained samples and loading records are checked before shipment according to order requirements.
