SEPPE BAUXITE
Introduction
Calcined bauxite is one of the principal ore of aluminum. Calcined bauxite contains hydrous aluminum oxides and aluminum hydroxides, formed through the laterization of aluminous rocks in tropical and subtropical areas. Calcined bauxite is obtained by calcining (heating) superior grade bauxite at high temperature (from 85O℃ to 1600℃). This removes moisture thereby increasing the alumina content. Compared to an alumina content of about 57% to 58%in raw bauxite, calcined bauxite has an alumina content of 84% to 88%.
Grade | Al2O3 | Fe2O3 | TiO2 | CaO+MgO | K2O+Na2O | Bulk Density (g/cm3) | Refractoriness ℃ | Ignition Loss |
I | ≥85 | ≤1.0 | ≤4.0 | ≤0.8 | ≤0.5 | >3.5 | ≥1800 | ≤0.5 |
II | ≥80 | ≤1.5 | ≤5.0 | ≤1.0 | ≤0.7 | >3.2 | ≥1750 | ≤0.5 |
III | ≥75 | ≤2.0 | ≤5.0 | ≤1.0 | ≤0.8 | >3.0 | ≥1700 | ≤0.5 |
Main Application
■Calcined Bauxite for refractory material
Such calcination of bauxite has the properties of high alumina, low iron, high hardness, small thermal expansion coefficient, high refractoriness, and stable thermal chemical performance, so it is the main raw material of producing alumina and artificial corundum refractory materials.
■Calcined Bauxite for precision casting
The alumina clinker which is processed into fine powder and made into cast mould can be used in military, aerospace, communications,
■Calcined Bauxite for aluminum refining Industry
It can be used for national defense, aviation, automobiles, electrical appliances, chemicals, daily necessities.
■Calcined Bauxite for high friction surface coating
Calcined bauxite has been the most commonly used aggregate material used for High Friction Surfacing. The inherent nature of Calcined Bauxite resists shear stresses that lead to polishing of the road surface.
