Introduction

Mullite is a synthetic material, it is chemically synthesized by mixing the right proportions of other alumina rich raw materials such as clays, pure kaolin and bauxite, then eliminating impurities, extrusion in form of sticks, and finally calcining the mixture after at high temperatures. It is of high bulk density, stable quality, good thermal shock resistance, small index of high temperature creep and excellent chemical-resistance. It is ideal raw material for refractory products such as different shaped and unshaped refractory materials, advanced ceramic sanitary ware body, precision casting models and so on.

SEPPE High Wear Resistant Mullite
The structural composition characteristics of high abrasion resistant mullite include well-developed long columnar mullite, forming an interlocking network structure and the dense structure composed of mullite and high silica glass phases

Its iron oxide exists in three forms:
*It dissolves in mullite to form mullite solid solution;
*It forms a liquid phase and disperses in the high silica glass phase;
*A small portion exists in the form of iron oxide crystals
