Introduction

GL is medium-hard cast steel grit balancing performance & cost, sitting at medium hardness between GP and GH. Produced through two-stage modified quenching & tempering, it retains sharper angular durability than GP and better toughness than GH. Suitable for both wheel blasting and enclosed air blasting, it is widely used for moderate-to-heavy rust removal, oxide elimination and substrate profiling before conventional anti-corrosion coating.

Key Advantages

1. Balanced efficiency & cost: ~20% faster cleaning efficiency vs GP at lower unit price than GH, top choice for mass structural steel processing;

2. Stable anchor profile: Produces uniform anchor pattern 1.0~3.0mil, compatible with epoxy, alkyd and polyurethane anti-corrosion coatings;

3. Dual-purpose for wheel blasting & compressed-air blasting: Works for bulk steel plates and irregular-shaped workpieces;

4. Favourable recycling lifespan: Medium breakage rate ensures controllable long-term abrasive expenditure.

Application Fields

1. General steel construction: Derusting factory frames, space trusses and container panels from medium rust & old paint;

2. Construction machinery: Surface treatment for loader & excavator structural parts and medium-thick steel oxide removal;

3. Pipes & storage tanks: Pre-treatment for carbon steel pipelines and atmospheric storage tank outer walls;

4. Ship auxiliary components: Rust cleaning for ship sections and marine section steel.

Selection Tip:

GL10~GL16 for thick plate & heavy rust;

GL18~GL40 as universal mainstream grade;

Below GL50 for thin sheets & precision component fine blasting.
