White Fused Alumina(WFA), also called White Fused Aluminium Oxide, named by its white color, belongs to the electro fused artificial corundum group. It's an important mineral with chemical and high temperature stability, great purity, hardness and fireproof and refractory characters. White fused alumina is one of the most widely used raw materials for so many industrial fields, including refractory, bonded abrasives and coated abrasives industries.

Introduction


White Fused Alumina (WFA) is produced by fusing high-purity Bayer-processed alumina in an electric arc furnace at over 2,050°C under carefully controlled conditions. The result is a dense, white mineral with large Alpha Alumina crystals, characterized by:

  • High hardness (Mohs 9)

  • Excellent wear and abrasion resistance

  • High chemical and thermal stability

  • Angular particle shape for superior mechanical interlocking

These properties make White Fused Alumina an exceptional choice for anti-skid surfacing applications, where long-lasting surface friction and high visibility are critical.
