Introduction
Brown Fused Alumina (BFA), also known as Brown Aluminum Oxide, is produced through an electric arc furnace smelting process. It combines high hardness (Mohs 9) with exceptional toughness and controlled particle shape, making it an ideal abrasive grain specifically for grinding wheel manufacturing. Whether for resinoid or vitrified bonds, BFA provides consistent cutting action, high wear resistance, and long wheel life. Its thermal stability also makes it suitable for other abrasive and refractory applications, but this grade is optimized for grinding wheels.

Brown Corundum is the most widely used grain in bonded abrasives, thanks to its self-sharpening property and durability.
Resinoid grinding wheels – general purpose, cut-off wheels, depressed center wheels
Vitrified grinding wheels – precision grinding, surface grinding, cylindrical grinding
Sharpening stones – bench stones, oil stones
Coated abrasives (sandpaper, belts, discs)
