Introduction
Brown Fused Alumina (BFA), also known as Brown Aluminum Oxide, is produced through an electric arc furnace smelting process. Thanks to its high hardness (Mohs 9), angular particle shape, and low dust generation during blasting, it is an ideal abrasive grain specifically for dry blasting applications. It effectively removes rust, paint, scale, and contaminants from metal surfaces without embedding or damaging the substrate. BFA is also used in sandpaper, grinding wheels, and refractory materials, but this grade is optimized for dry blasting.

Thanks to its high hardness, toughness, and consistent particle shape, BFA is widely used in dry blasting for:
Surface preparation – removal of rust, paint, mill scale, and old coatings before recoating or welding
