Sintered Mullite M55

SEPPE Sintered Mullite M55 is a grey to dark grey cost-performance high wear resistant mullite raw material for refractory castables, moulding, foundry and casting applications. It combines 55.81% Al2O3 with 4.57% Fe2O3, controlled silica and titanium oxide, supporting dense sintered structure, stable physical properties and reliable service performance where low-iron color control is not the priority.

Product Overview

M55 is designed for applications where wear resistance, dense structure and cost-performance balance are important. Its Fe2O3 value is higher than the low-iron M45, M60 and M70 grades, so M55 is better presented as a practical wear resistant grade rather than a low-iron or high-purity grade. The material is supplied in grey or dark grey block, grit and powder forms, giving buyers flexibility for castable formulation, moulding, foundry and casting systems.

According to the SEPPE M55 data sheet, the product has 2.60 g/cm3 bulk density, 0.48% water absorption and 1.24% apparent porosity. The report also records linear change of 0.14 at 1450C and -0.08 after reheating at 1500C following 1400C.
