What Is Cenosphere?

▸ Cenospheres are naturally formed hollow ceramic microspheres recovered and purified from fly ash. Each sphere has a rigid aluminosilicate shell and a sealed hollow interior, creating low density, thermal insulation, and mineral stability in one particle.

▸ SEPPE supplies general cenosphere grades for broad industrial use, with optional application-specific grades and testing protocols for oilfield cementing, coating, and insulation systems.

▸ This page is arranged as a complete Cenosphere material overview: product function, grade selection, applications, physical properties, quality control, documents, packaging, FAQ, and related resources.

Core Benefits

Low Density & High Volume
Hollow spheres reduce formulation weight and provide more filling volume per kilogram than dense mineral fillers.
Thermal Insulation
The hollow interior creates microscopic air barriers for insulation coatings, mortar, refractory, and slurry systems.
Spherical Flow
Smooth round particles improve flow, dispersion, packing, pumping, and dry-blend handling.
Ceramic Stability
SiO₂-Al₂O₃ shell provides heat resistance, chemical inertness, and durable mineral performance.
Application-Specific QC
Oilfield and coating grades are tested with different standards according to real performance requirements.
