Bauxite Powder For Casting

Calcined bauxite is considered as one of the major ore of aluminum. Offered calcined bauxite powder is formed by calcining (heating) top grade bauxite at excessive temperature which ranges between 85OC to 1600C.As moisture gets eliminated therefore, it increases the alumina content. Further, calcined bauxite consists of 84% to 88% of alumina, as equated to 57% to 58% in raw bauxite. The entire operation is executed with help of rotary kilns.

Bauxite Powder For Casting

▸ Fine 325 mesh calcined bauxite powder for precision investment casting shell systems.

★ 325 Mesh Fine Powder       ★ High Alumina Content

★ Low Impurities                    ★ Consistent Particle Size

What Is Bauxite Powder For Casting?

▸ Bauxite powder for casting is a finely ground refractory material produced by calcining high-grade raw bauxite and milling it to a controlled 325 mesh particle size. With high alumina content and low impurity levels, this powder is specially designed for use in investment casting slurries, mold coatings, and refractory filler applications where fine particle size and consistent chemistry are critical for achieving smooth surface finishes on cast parts.

Why SEPPE Calcination Matters for Casting Powder

Our fully calcined bauxite powder delivers consistent performance in precision casting applications:

  • Fine Uniform Particle Size — 325 mesh ensures excellent suspension in slurries and smooth mold coatings.

  • High Refractoriness — withstands pouring temperatures of up to 1770°C without breaking down.

  • Low Impurity Content — minimal iron and alkali content prevents unwanted reactions with molten alloys.

  • Consistent Chemistry — batch-to-batch uniformity ensures repeatable slurry viscosity and mold performance.

Quality Control & Laboratory Testing

▸ XRF Chemical Analysis — every batch tested for Al₂O₃, Fe₂O₃, TiO₂, CaO, MgO content

▸ Particle Size Analysis — laser diffraction to verify 325 mesh specification

▸ Bulk Density Measurement — pycnometer method to verify specified density range

▸ Magnetic Separation Inspection — removal of iron contamination

▸ Batch Traceability — full documentation from raw ore source to shipping container
